JMR Art Gallery

June was such an amazing month. 

JMR was filled with so many new Ontario Artists.  The exhibits were well-received by our many visitors.   Our radio ads on The Beach 103.9, as well as, print ads, word of mouth, and Bayfield mailings brought many new people to the gallery.

We opened the month with the "22" Exhibit on display and celebrated with an evening reception for our "Glowing" Exhibit of sunset inpired art.  This exhibit runs until Jul 24. 

In addition to the changing themed exhibits we also participated in Bayfield's Annual Sail & Canvas Event.  JMR artists extended their exhibits to the front parking area where the weather was beautiful and the visitors were welcomed.  

We also had our first JMR Plein Air Day.  The weather was questionable in the morning but we had 35 very dedicated artists from all over Ontario.  The sun came out early afternoon and we had a lovely informal exhibit of the day's creations at the end of the day.  Word is "seasonal" Plein Air Days to be announced.   I can't wait to see the Artists completed paintings in our "Loving Bayfield" Exhibit opening Jul 30.  A special thank you to the London Gallery Group of painters for their support as well as all the participants for making our first year a great one!

It was a joy to speak to the many, many visitors to the gallery.   June 2010, was a month of great weather, great people, and great art!

What will July bring?

- Our first Canada Day at JMR -  we welcome Susan Seitz and Rhonda Franks to the gallery, in addition to artists Susan Garrington, julie hawkins, Jacquie vanKlaveren, Kelly Bradley, Michele Braniff, Christopher Grimes, Shelley Malcolm, Mary Venner, Barbara McKnight, Lisa Gerrard, Debra Bailey, Judy Roth, Colleen Turner, Naomi Assenheim and Sherri Coleman in the Main Gallery, and 70+ sunset inspired art in JMR's Gallery Twenty2.

"Loving Bayfield" Exhibit is opening the long weekend July 30 - Aug 2, reception Fri Jul 30 evening.
