Our Loving Bayfield Exhibit is a HUGE success. If you were here on Opening Nite, you enjoyed a glass of wine and listened to the music of some fabulous musicians from London and of course our Tony from the Celtic Studio. You also would have a seen a different exhibit from what is showing now. So many of our artpieces have found new homes in the past week and the artists have been bringing in new pieces for display.
I am so excited about our upcoming exhibit! "Loving Bayfield" is a celebration of all things we love about Bayfield. This is the last day for the original art to be delivered and I love what is being dropped off. So far "The Ontario Artist" loves: - ice cream - walking trails - sunsets - Pioneer Park - The Little Inn - the Beach - Sailing - The Red Pump - Marina - 'Harry's Restaurant' - the Conseula at the Albion - Sailer Statue - Trees - The Black Dog - Flea Market - Lighthouse house . . .
Last nite I attended my first Irish social, or céilí (pronounced /ˈkeɪli/ in English). I must admit I have never been a fan of Celtic music but I am now! Our good neighbour who owns the Celtic Studio in our group of shops invited Ken and I to this evening. It was a lovely evening along the Bayfield Marina watching the sunset listening to musicians from London and surrounding area. We sat around a beautiful fire and heard amazing music (yes I did sing along) and great Irish stories. I am inspired to buy an instrument and try to learn something to play at the next Ceili.
My day started very early with a walk to the beach on Lake Huron from JMR. It was a beautiful, calm morning and I passed many early risers with their dogs, strollers and fishing poles. I walked to Pioneer Park and down the 121 steps to the sandy beach, found some amazing sea glass to use in my stained glass art and sat near the pier watching the men and ladies fishing. I then walked past the marina and up the pathway to the historic main street and read the community board for local news. It was a perfect way to start the day - it was 6:30 am but any later would
June was such an amazing month.
JMR was filled with so many new Ontario Artists. The exhibits were well-received by our many visitors. Our radio ads on The Beach 103.9, as well as, print ads, word of mouth, and Bayfield mailings brought many new people to the gallery.
We opened the month with the "22" Exhibit on display and celebrated with an evening reception for our "Glowing" Exhibit of sunset inpired art. This exhibit runs until Jul 24.
I always say "Do your art like no one's watching". Easier said than done for some.
